United States Silver Corporation of Idaho is best known for its 1 oz silver art bars of the 1970s and early ’80s. They issued commemoratives like the 1973 Boston Tea Party 200th-anniversary bar and the 1973 Israel Silver Anniversary bar, plus a 12-bar “Man’s Contribution to Man” series — bar #12 depicts Walt Disney, dated 1981, with a mintage of just 500. They also poured larger 5, 10, and 100 oz ingots.
These USSC Silver Bars, also in One Ounce Size came from Van Nuys, California. They are not from Wallace Idaho or from Pennsylvania as has been stated. This same One Ounce bar I own was posted by Callahan’s Antiquities in Pennsylvania and posted on Worthpoint from a sale by Callahan’s on Ebay Feb 11, 2021.
A Platinum One Ounce Pressed Bar Posted on ‘Vintage Poured Bars’, April 10 2024 for sale, states the same Company Name as the small One Ounce Bar I have and the Two Bars you have posted here on VPB. The Platinum Bar states: Produced for and Marketed by United States Silver Corp. Van Nuys , California. This Bar is counter stamped on the other side by Engelhard. Hopefully this clears up the provenance for these Bars
