Eutectic Metals Company

Eutectic Metals Company is another ghost — no location, no dates, no company history in any database, forum, or auction description. What survives: hand-poured .999 fine bars stamped “Eutectic Metals Company, Inc.” in the 10 oz class and at least one ~25 oz example. Very few have ever surfaced, which suggests low original output. One of the true sleepers.

Two different varieties. See bottom has another hallmark stamped on side. Top has a serial/lot #.
Bottom also has lot number. May appear as a date, but it’s not. Company didn’t exist until 1974.
Beautiful reverse.

  1. Anyone know any tips / method of dating a Eutectic Metals Co. silver ingot?
Or how to tell its rarity?
    Thanks for any input –

    1. Info has been tough to come by on these. My best guess on dates is late 70s timeframe based on the look and style. They are very collectible, but premiums are not crazy, but respectable. I have seen them mostly in 10 oz size. Price on these in good condition could be $400-425.
